Temporary Closure of Route Adams

Route Adams will be closed from 20th April until 22nd June 2026.

The closure is necessary to allow the contractor to safely and efficiently install the underground connection between the B777 basement and the technical galerie which runs along the opposite side of Route Adams. This link will be critical for providing power and services to the new building.

Vehicles

Access to nearby buildings and facilities will be maintained via diversions. Detours and signage will be in place to guide vehicles around the road closure. The car park by B866 will be closed, so users are invited to park at the B775 car park and walk along the pedestrian path to B866.

Pedestrians

Pedestrian access will be maintained along Route Adams from the car park by 775 to buildings 866 and 865.

Cyclists

Cyclists are kindly requested to dismount and walk their bike along the pedestrian path past the road closure to ensure the safety of all road users. The bike parking in the B866 car park will remain open, but should only be accessed on foot.

These short-term constraints are necessary steps toward delivering a modern, efficient and user-friendly B777 facility at the heart of the CERN campus. We thank all Prévessin users for their patience and understanding as we work together to build an improved environment for CERN.
