Road Bearing Capacity Tests Around B867
As part of the works for B777, upgrades to the parking areas around B867 will be made, including the addition of nearly 200 new parking spots, and improvements to sustainable drainage and biodiversity.
Next week, plate load tests will be carried out to determine the soil bearing capacity before the design is finalised and the upgrades can begin.

In each testing area, a 1 x 1m section of asphalt will be carefully cut out, and a truck will perform tests on the soil beneath the asphalt. The holes will then be filled in by the Contractor to return them to their original state.
The phasing of the works will be planned to minimise the disruption during peak usage periods as much as possible.
