Reopening of Route Adams

Route Adams will be reopened to traffic from Monday 3rd August 2026, with normal traffic conditions restored. The car park by B866 will also be reopened and available for everyone to use.

The road markings have not yet been done, as they cannot be applied to freshly laid asphalt. These will be carried out at a later stage, but are not expected to require a full closure of the road to complete.

The reopening of the road follows the completion of the works to construct the underground connection between the existing technical gallery which runs beneath Route Adams and the new B777 basement. This link is critical for providing power and services to the new building.

The road closure also enabled the installation of the wastewater drainage network between B777 and an existing connection beneath Route Adams. By carrying out this installation at the same time as the gallery works, a second road closure later this year was avoided, reducing disruption during the LS3 period.
