Adams Road Closure Extended to Prioritise Safety and Efficiency
To ensure the safe completion of the ongoing underground connection works for Building 777, the closure of Adams Road has been extended. While we understand this may cause some inconvenience, the additional time allows the project team to complete the work under safe conditions, particularly following the recent period of high temperatures, when certain activities had to be postponed to protect the workforce.
The extension also provides an opportunity to complete the planned wastewater connection works during the current closure. By carrying out these activities now, CERN will avoid the need for a second road closure later this year during the LS3 period, reducing future disruption.
Traffic arrangements remain unchanged. Pedestrian access continues to be maintained, while bicycles and all other vehicles remain prohibited on Adams Road until the works are completed. The existing diversion routes and signage remain in place, and updates will continue to be published on the Building 777 website as the project progresses.
As LS3 activities continue across the CERN site, the Building 777 project team remains fully committed to working closely with LS3 stakeholders to coordinate activities, minimise disruption and ensure that both projects can progress safely and efficiently for everyone.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we prioritise the safety of everyone working on and around the site.

About Building 777
Building 777 is set to become a central hub for the Prévessin site, accommodating offices, a restaurant, laboratories, and workshops. Designed as a collaborative and welcoming space, it aims to foster interaction, support innovation, and serve as a vibrant social focal point for the CERN community.
As construction progresses, this milestone represents the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the site, one that places sustainability, functionality, and community at its core.
